BAU (June 22, 2025) — Over a thousand Catholics from St Stephen’s Parish, Bau braved the heavy downpour to honour the sacred presence of Christ in the Eucharist during the Corpus Christi Procession around Bau town.
The procession was led by priests, Rev Fr Augustine Jepy, Rector Rev Fr Peter Liston, and Rev Fr Paul Herry, together with Sisters, Altar Servers, members of the Legion of Mary, the Catholic Nurses Guild, and representatives from the Parish’s five zones after a 5pm Holy Mass of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi at St Stephen’s Church.
Halfway through the procession, the heavens opened, drenching the participants. Despite the sudden change in weather, the participants continued their route around Bau town. Parishioners, drenched but determined, pressed on, showcasing their deep-rooted faith in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
The shared experience of braving the rain together only strengthened their communal spirit and resolve, culminating in the successful completion of the procession back to St Stephen’s Church.
