Holy Trinity Church gets new missionary priest from Congo

KUCHING — The Archdiocese of Kuching extends a warm welcome to Fr Delphin Kahemba Ndungu, SDB who arrived in Kuching on 17 July and now serves as assistant priest at Holy Trinity Church, Kenyalang.

He is the firstborn of nine children from a Catholic family from the southern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 

Fr Delphin started middle school in a minor seminary and began his journey with the Salesians in 2006. He has been a Salesian of Don Bosco since 2010. He has served as a missionary in the Province of Mary Help of Christians (CIN), stayed in Hong Kong to improve his English and worked with Salesian Cooperators for the Southeast Asia young people in difficulties.

He went to Taiwan to learn Mandarin (Salesian Technical School and Boys’ Town in Pingtong) in preparation for his work with MLC as well as theology studies in Mandarin at Fu Jen Faculty of Theology of St Robert Bellarmine in Taipei. He was ordained a deacon in 2021 and a priest in 2022.
