BUNAN — On 26 July 2025, St Jude’s Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) gathered for a special one-day formation on Synodal Leadership, led by Fr Galvin Richard Ngumbang. The program, held in a spirit of prayer and fraternity, aimed at deepening our understanding of journeying together as a parish community in communion, participation, and mission.

The day was enriched with three key sessions:

1. Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, Parish Pastoral Council, and Committee Gereja Kampung (KGK) – Journeying Together in Synodality.

This session highlighted the interconnected roles of various pastoral bodies and how collaboration strengthens our witness to the Gospel.

2. Synodal Journey and Parish Pastoral Plan Review.

Participants reflected on our parish’s pastoral priorities, assessed progress, and identified areas needing renewed focus.

3. Moving Forward – “We are the Church, Disciples of the Word in Communion for Mission”.

This final session inspired participants to embrace our identity as a missionary Church, rooted in the Word and united in purpose.

The sessions were highly engaging, incorporating interactive activities such as communication exercises and group work on reviewing and planning for the parish’s future. The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life, uniting us in thanksgiving and mission.

We are deeply grateful to Fr Galvin, who generously set aside a day from his holiday to empower and accompany our PPC in this synodal journey. His dedication, love, and guidance have greatly inspired us. With our prayers and best wishes, we accompany him in his further pursuit of studies in Canon Law.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to our Ladies’ Guild for their support and all the PPC members for their active participation in making the program more meaningful and fruitful. With renewed spirit, we go forth to carry on our commitment to lead together the St Jude’s Parish community – Disciples of the Word, in Communion for Mission.
