KUCHING — We rejoice in sharing the extraordinary success of the 2025 Marriage Course at Holy Trinity Church, Kenyalang, which witnessed a record-breaking 15 couples, from newlyweds of 1-year to seasoned spouses celebrating over 40 years of marriage—uniting to strengthen their sacred bonds.

Over eight life-giving sessions, the course held every Monday from 19 May to 14 July, equipped couples with practical tools, profound insights, and spiritual nourishment, guided by the wisdom of Scripture and the Church. The grand finale, a stirring Marriage in the Catholic Context session led by our rector Fr Eugene Maglasang, anchored the entire journey in the sacramental beauty of matrimony. The climax? A “moving renewal of vows”, where couples knelt before Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration, their “I do’s” echoing anew with grace and purpose.

A Night of Celebration: Testimonies, Song, and Sacred Symbols

The vow renewal blossomed into a joy-filled celebration, where couples savored a feast of delicious food, shared powerful testimonies of healing and hope, and lifted their voices in worship led by our dynamic rector, Fr Eugene, and assistant rector, Fr André Delimarta.

As a lasting reminder of God’s call to nurture love, each couple received a Saikei plant—a living emblem of marriage’s unique beauty and sacred fragility. Like these delicate plants, every marriage is irreplaceable; once broken, it cannot be restored to its original form. The gift served as a tender challenge: “Tend your covenant with the same devotion as this living creation.”

The Unseen Warriors: Prayer and Preparation

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team worked tirelessly, ensuring flawless PA/video systems, preparing nourishing refreshments, and creating a sacred space for each session. Their practical service made the transformative moments possible.

Even more powerfully, a devoted prayer team led by Fr Eugene gathered in the Prayer Room for Eucharistic Adoration at each session, interceding for every couple’s breakthrough. This spiritual covering was the invisible fuel for the course’s profound impact!

Lessons That Transformed Relationships

Participants left armed with lifelong tools:

• Communication breakthroughs – Mastering active listening and conflict resolution.

• Emotional reconnection – Speaking each other’s “love languages” with fresh intentionality.

• Sacramental vision – Seeing marriage as a path to holiness, not just happiness.

• Forgiveness in action – Embracing mercy as the heartbeat of covenant love.

 Many testified their marriages “leapt forward in understanding and closeness”, with some tearfully sharing, “We’ve fallen in love all over again!”

The Ripple Effect: Couples Pay It Forward

Overwhelmingly, participants vowed to bring other couples next year!—with many even offering to mentor or assist in future courses. Such enthusiasm confirms this course is not just an event, but a “movement of renewed marriages”.

We extend boundless gratitude to:

• Fr Eugene and Fr André for their visionary leadership;

• The hands-on team who served with quiet excellence;

• The prayer warriors whose intercession moved heaven;

• And above all, the couples who dared to invest in their “forever”.

“Love is patient, love is kind… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”– 1 Cor 13:4,7
