SIBU — On 15 October 2025, the Feast Day of St Teresa Avilla, a group of 41 pilgrims from Labuan, Sabah made a pilgrimage to St Teresa Oratory, Sibu, one of the three designated pilgrimage centres in the Diocese of Sibu.
The group was warmly received by members of the Sibu Neo-Catechumenate Community, led by Fr Edward Raymond, a priest of the Neo-Catechumenal Way.
Prior to their arrival in Sibu, the pilgrims had visited various pilgrimage centres in Kuching, Sarikei, and Kanowit.
Before entering the Holy Door of Hope and celebrating the Holy Eucharist, Fr Edward invited the group to recite the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In his homily, Fr Edward reminded the congregation not to condemn or pass judgment on others, but instead to show love, mercy, and compassion.
During the Mass, 14 married couples took the opportunity to renew their marriage vows, marking a profound moment of grace and thanksgiving.
Since the opening of the Holy Door, St Teresa Oratory has received 40 pilgrimage groups, numbering about 2,000 pilgrims in total. These include both organized groups and individual pilgrims who have come to seek spiritual renewal and grace.
It was truly a joyous and memorable occasion for all who took part in this spiritual journey.
