KUCHING — On 1 April 2025, members of St Peter’s Church Padungan, comprising the Saturday Sunset and Sunday Evening choirs, embarked on a meaningful pilgrimage to the Gethsemane Pilgrimage Centre in Bunan Gega, Serian.

Held in conjunction with the Jubilee Year of 2025, this journey was both a spiritual retreat and a joyful gathering of faith and fellowship.

The day began by following the path of the Stations of the Cross, to meditate on Christ’s Passion and unite their sacrifices with His. Following this prayerful reflection, a Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr Mark Noel Bonchol, who accompanied the group throughout the pilgrimage, with a spiritually enriching homily touching on the importance of servitude, compassion and forgiveness, and sacrifice.

After Mass, a delicious lunch was generously prepared by the hosts of the centre, providing a time for joyful fellowship and strengthening bonds among the choir members. Laughter and heartfelt conversations filled the air, making it not only a spiritually enriching experience but also a fun and uplifting trip.

This pilgrimage served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of faith, community, and the Jubilee Year’s call to renewal. Through prayer, worship, and shared moments, the pilgrims returned with hearts refreshed and spirits lifted, grateful for the blessings of the day.
