KUCHING — St Joseph’s Parish Ladies Guild (SJPLG) completed its Jubilee Pilgrimage with the last of the five pilgrimage sites at Gethsemane Pilgrimage Centre, Bunan Gega on 13-14 December 2025.
The pilgrimage with an overnight stay allowed the 37 Pilgrims of Hope to spend time at a relaxed pace with a lovely sunset Mass presided by Father Nicholas Ng at the chapel.
SJPLG chairlady, Rose Khoo led the pilgrims, many of whom, had stepped foot in Gethsemane Pilgrimage Centre for the first time.
They started off with the Rosary and Divine Mercy prayers and praise and worship songs followed by a talk by Father Ng who enlightened them on Prayer and Liturgical Worship. He elaborated on the need, purposes and forms of prayer in our relationship with God and explained the Order of Mass and its characteristics.
The talk helped the pilgrims to have a better understanding of their prayer life and their relationship with God and opening up their hearts and minds to keep their communication with God alive.
The next morning, the pilgrims did the Stations of the Cross at the beautiful garden with the sun rays streaming down through the canopy – a sight to behold.
As recommended by Father Nicholas, the pilgrims stopped by Kampung Mongkos on the way back and joined the Ladies Guild members and their families for a fellowship gathering at the Homestay Longhouse. Then there was a detour, suggested by Sister Stella, SPJLG spiritual advisor, to the Grotto of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Kampung Terbat Mawang, Serian.
Sister Stella gave the pilgrims something to think about: What gift can we offer to Jesus this Advent?
