KUCHING (21 June 2025) — The faithful of St Peter’s Church, Padungan, came together in joy and reverence to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)—marking the first time this feast was celebrated in the new Church.
The celebration began with Holy Mass, presided by Rev Father Vincent Chin, Rector of St Peter’s Church. In his homily, Fr Chin reflected on the profound mystery of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, reminding the congregation that the Body and Blood of Christ is the true source of unity and spiritual nourishment for the Church.

Following the Mass, the congregation participated in a solemn Eucharistic procession, a long-standing tradition that publicly honours and proclaims our faith in the Real Presence. The Blessed Sacrament, held in the monstrance, was reverently carried through the Church as the faithful followed in prayer and adoration.
The procession was made especially meaningful by the presence of flower girls, who lovingly strewed petals along the path—an outward sign of our devotion and love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. As the procession moved through the Church, hearts were lifted in worship and awe, reminded once again that Christ walks among us, dwelling in the Eucharist and uniting us as one body in Him.
This memorable celebration marked not only a continuation of cherished tradition but a beautiful beginning for many more Eucharistic celebrations to come in the heart of our new parish Church.
