KOTA SENTOSA (14 February 2026)  — Around 200 participants from Sacred Heart Church (SHC) and St Mark Church attended a formation session titled: “Formasi: Konsili Vatikan II” presented by Rev Fr Felix Au.

The day began with Holy Mass at 8.30 am, grounding the programme in the Eucharist and seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Participants included Parish Pastoral Council members, EOMHCs, catechists, youth, prayer leaders, and parishioners — reflecting a strong commitment to ongoing faith formation.

Fr Felix highlighted the significance of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965), convened by Pope John XXIII and continued by Pope Paul VI. He explained that the Council sought renewal (aggiornamento), a return to Scripture and Tradition (ressourcement), and emphasised the universal call to holiness.

Participants were reminded that Vatican II presents the Church as the “People of God”, where all the baptised share responsibility in the mission of evangelisation. The session also reflected on the Council’s impact on liturgy, encouraging active participation and deeper understanding of the Mass.

The formation concluded with renewed appreciation for Church teaching and a strengthened commitment to unity, service, and missionary discipleship.
