SRI AMAN — On 2 August 2025 (Saturday), from 8:30am to 12:00 noon, a Quarterly Recollection for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion was held at Mt Hosanna’s Shrine of Mother Mary.

The theme for this recollection, “I Am the Bread of Life” (John 6:51), called all participants to deepen their spiritual commitment and reflect on the central role of the Holy Eucharist in their ministry.

This time of reflection and renewal reminded us of our sacred responsibility to bring Jesus to others, even amidst the challenges we may face in our service. It was an opportunity to contemplate the profound meaning of the Eucharist – the Bread of Life – and how we, as ministers, are entrusted to share Christ’s life-giving presence with the faithful.

The spirit of humility and servant-heartedness is the foundation of our ministry. Through our reverence and sincerity, we bear witness to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, guiding others to encounter Him more deeply in their lives.

As the program concluded, we celebrated the Holy Mass, a fitting end to a day of spiritual renewal. During the Mass, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (for men only) were presented with a necktie as a token of appreciation for their undivided service to the people of God. This simple yet meaningful gesture was a symbol of gratitude for their ongoing commitment to the Church and the faithful.

The participants expressed immense joy and fulfillment from the recollection. They were deeply renewed and inspired, feeling empowered to serve with even greater humility and dedication.

Many shared how the recollection reignited their passion for ministry, and they were grateful for the insights and encouragement provided. A special note of thanks was given to Fr Henry Jimbey for his profound input and guidance throughout the day, which had a lasting impact on their hearts and minds.
