KUCHING — Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) Parish organised a workshop on First Aid Emergency procedures attended by representatives from several urban parishes in the Archdiocese of Kuching, on 25 January 2026 at the BSC Hall.
The talk on First Aid, facilitated by BSC’s Patrick Jee focused on immediate actions to take in case of an emergency in Church, such as a parishioner suddenly fainting or collapsing. Skill drills on how to place the sick parishioner on a stretcher, perform CPR, etc were taught with the aid of slides and videos.
Attendees also learnt proper guidelines to follow to lift a sick person onto a wheelchair.
Patrick and his medic team later invited participants to participate in live demonstrations, where almost everyone happily took part.
The 4-hour afternoon session concluded with a talk and live demonstration / practice on how to perform immediate CPR with an automated external defibrillator (AED) by ZOLL – the agent / distributor of the AED available now in these city parishes.
