KUCHING —  The St Joseph’s Cathedral Church Family Day (PFD) was launched last Sunday afternoon (18 Jan) with a target to raise RM400,000 for the city Church.

The PFD scheduled for Sunday, 5 July 2026 at the compound of the St Joseph’s Church from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm. is also intended to be an occasion to strengthen  fellowship and goodwill among parishioners in the service of Christ.

The day promised to be a fun-filled occasion for the city parishioners and visitors, Christians and non-Christians, from other parishes and areas in the archdiocese.

Apart from sales of food and drinks, fun and games, and music and dance are expected to be other items lined up to spice up the annual get-together of parishioners in the city.

The amount is primarily to foot the cost of operating and maintaining the Archdiocesan Curia and Cathedral Parish Centre ( ACCPC).

On hand to witness the afternoon’s ceremony was Rector of St Joseph’s Cathedral Church, Rev Fr Nicholas Ng who led a prayer at the start of the session.

The launch ceremony included a briefing for the participating lay organisations that was conducted  by Aloysius Lai,  Chairman of the St Joseph’s Parish Pastoral Committee (PPC).

The ceremony ended with the distribution of the sales coupons, to the lay organisations.

The coupons priced at RM50 per book of 10 coupons are also good for purchases during pre-sales at the church.

The afternoon also witnessed the registration of groups as stall operators who are authorised to set up pre-sale stalls at the church.
