KUCHING — This is an annual event organised by the Sunday School with assistance from St Peter’s Seminary College. The Retreat prepares the students who will be receiving their Sacrament of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Four seminarians from St Peter’s College are normally sent to give a talk and to do activities related to topics for preparing for and understanding the Sacraments they are receiving. This year, 2026, we were fortunate to have four seminarians undertaking their pastoral attachments with BSC Sunday School.
For this year’s retreat, the four seminarians, Bro Vincent Suseh, Bro Larry Misol, and an invited Bro John Robertson Joseph gave their talks to the Confirmation students in Level 10, while Bro Leon Gautier, along with Bro Frenddy John gave talks to the Baptism and First Holy Communion students in Basic and Level 4 classes.
The retreat started at 8 am on 8 August with registration for all 110 students at the Parish Hall. After the opening prayers and praise and worship session, at 8.30 am, the L10 students moved to FDLCC for their sessions, whereas Basic and L4 students stayed in the Hall for their sessions. With a packed schedule, all activities were done smoothly with help from the teachers of each level and other teachers who volunteered to help.
The teachers did the Praise and Worship at the end of the Retreat. Tokens were given to the seminarians, and group photos were taken. The Retreat officially ended around 2 pm.
