KUCHING — St Peter’s Church marked the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on Sunday, 7 June with a reverent Eucharistic celebration that united a diverse congregation in worship and thanksgiving. The celebration began inside the Church, where the centre aisle was beautifully adorned with a carpet of flowers leading to the sanctuary, symbolising the faithful’s preparation for the Lord’s presence. Archbishop Simon Poh presided over the Holy Mass, concelebrated by six priests.
Following the Mass, the congregation gathered outdoors for a candlelight Eucharistic procession around the Church grounds, accompanying the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and song. A group of young flower girls led the procession, scattering flower petals along the route as a gesture of honour and preparation for the Lord.
The celebration concluded with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, bringing the faithful together in a prayerful finale that reflected the unity, devotion, and diversity of the parish community.
