St Joseph’s Private Primary celebrates Josephian Day with blessing of school

KUCHING  St Joseph’s Private Primary School was officially blessed by Archbishop Simon Poh on 26 March 2021. The blessing was held in conjunction with the celebration of Josephian Day.

SK St Joseph was officially handed back to the Archdiocese on 22 December 2020 and now the primary school has its very own school campus.

Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh presided over the 8.30 am blessing ceremony at the new San Damiano Chapel.

In attendance were the CEO of the Family of Schools, Christopher Chua, Principal of the Secondary school, Fr Francis Lim and Headmistress of the Primary School, Shirley Chong.

Franciscan sisters Sr Irmina and Sr Norma, Senior Assistant, Christina Yong and training consultant, Thomas Huo were also present.

This was followed by the blessing of the statue of St Joseph located at the entrance of the building. 

The Archbishop then proceeded to bless the two staffrooms St Anthony and St Clare, the library, the 24 classrooms and the rest of the building.

The school management committee acknowledged their gratitude to Archbishop Simon Poh for blessing the school, and thanked everyone who had contributed in making the occasion possible.
