St Joseph’s Cathedral appoints new Pastoral Councillors for 2021-2024

KUCHING  St Joseph’s Cathedral Kuching appointed its 15th Parish Pastoral Council members for the term 2021 to 2024 upon expiry of the 14th PPC term in September 2021.

At the 15th PPC inaugural meeting on 22 September via Zoom, His Grace, Archbishop Simon Poh, informed that the appointment of the new PPC members had to be done on consultative mode as in the case of other parishes, as the usual process of nomination/election during Masses could not be carried out in view of the prevailing pandemic SOP at the time. The new PPC includes representation from the youth as part of the succession plan.

His Grace expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the 14th PPC members for their unwavering commitment and contribution in serving the church and the respective ministries and apostolates. He welcomed the new PPC members and thanked them for accepting their roles as Pastoral Councillors. He shared that with the church coming together to become a synodal church, church leaders and laity play a critical role in seeking new and creative ways to move forward together in communion, participation and mission as it braces itself through this challenging time and the future.

His Grace looks forward to the zealous support and commitment of the new PPCs, especially as the driving force in connecting, listening and receiving the voices of the grassroots and the community.
