KUCHING —  A total of 103 students from Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) Sunday School (English) attended a retreat conducted within the vicinity of the Church.

This is an annual event organised by the Sunday School with assistance from St Peter’s College (SPC) Major Seminary. The retreat is to prepare the students for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

Four seminarians from St Peter’s College are normally sent to give talks and to do activities related to topics for preparing and understanding the Sacraments they are receiving.

This year, 2025, we were fortunate to have four seminarians undertaking their pastoral attachments with BSC Sunday School. Bro Jerome Loganathan and Bro Matthew Lo gave their talks to the Confirmation students in Level 10, and Bro Ron Fernandez, with Bro Stephen Suhaili, gave talks to the Baptism and First Holy Communion students in Basic and Level 4 classes.

The retreat started at 8 am with registration for all students at the Fr Dato Lawrence Chua Centre (FDLCC) on 20 September. After the opening prayers at 8.30 am, the L10 students moved to block B, room B104, for their sessions, whereas Basic and L4 students stayed in FDLCC for their sessions.

With a packed schedule, all activities were done smoothly with help from the teachers of each level and other teachers who volunteered to help. The Emmaus Youth were also invited to lead the Praise and Worship at the end of the retreat.

Tokens were given to the seminarians, and group photos were taken by the facilitators. The retreat officially ended around 2 pm.
