SIMANGGANG — 18 July 2026, The Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (Simanggang), hosted the Renewal Course and Recollection 2026 for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EOMHCs) and Sacristans. Held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the formation programme was centred on the theme “Here I Am, Ready” (Hebrews 10:7), inviting participants to renew their commitment to serving God and His Church with faith and dedication.
The course and recollection were conducted by Rev Fr Henry Jimbey, who provided spiritual guidance, pastoral reflections, and practical insights into the roles and responsibilities of liturgical ministers. Through his inspiring talks and reflections, participants were encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ and to carry out their ministry with humility, devotion, and love.
The theme “Here I Am, Ready”, inspired by Hebrews 10:7, served as a reminder of the importance of being open and obedient to God’s will. Just as Christ faithfully fulfilled the mission entrusted to Him by the Father, the participants were called to embrace their own ministries with a willing and generous heart. This message resonated strongly with the EOMHCs and Sacristans, whose service plays a vital role in supporting the liturgical life of the Church.
Beyond strengthening their understanding of ministry, the programme also provided opportunities for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal. In an atmosphere of fellowship and unity, participants shared experiences, strengthened one another in faith, and renewed their commitment to serving the People of God.
It is hoped that this Renewal Course and Recollection will continue to inspire and empower all participants to serve with renewed zeal and dedication. May the spirit of “Here I Am, Ready” remain alive in their hearts as they faithfully carry out their ministry and bear witness to Christ in their communities.
“Then I said, ‘Here I am, I have come to do Your will, O God.’”
(Hebrews 10:7)
Peace of Christ.
