By Landings Kuching Archdiocese Ministry
KUCHING — The LANDINGS International Programme, a Catholic faith renewal and reconciliation ministry founded by the Paulist Fathers in the United States in 1989, offers a welcoming and safe space for individuals to reflect, rediscover, and renew their faith journey. Over the years, this programme has helped countless Catholics in the United States, Singapore, Sabah, and the Klang Valley reconnect with God and return to the faith community.
Through weekly small-group gatherings, participants are encouraged to share their personal stories in confidence, listen to one another with openness, pray together, and discern God’s presence in their lives. The sessions are conducted in a non-judgemental environment and are facilitated by trained companions who journey with participants in friendship, compassion, encouragement, and understanding. Through these encounters, many discover anew God’s unconditional love, mercy, and healing grace.
Landings 2025
LANDINGS International Programme Kuching 2025 was successfully held at the ACCPC, hosted by St Joseph’s Cathedral, over 9 consecutive weeks from August to October 2025. There were 90 participants (30 of whom were facilitators). The programme concluded with a Weekend Away Retreat at Gethsemane Pilgrimage Centre, Bunan Serian on 22-23 November 2025 and Grand Finale with families and friends on 5 December 2025.
Testimonies from participants
“LANDINGS 1.0 renewed our faith and trust in God, especially after experiencing many challenges in our lives. There were times when we felt disappointed because our prayers seemed unanswered. We stopped going to Church and avoided anything related to religion or preaching about Jesus.
A friend encouraged my wife, who was also not a practising Catholic, to attend LANDINGS. At first, we were afraid and reluctant because although we were born Catholics, we had stopped going to Church for many years.
Through LANDINGS, our faith has been renewed. We have learned once again to trust in God’s plans for us and for our family.” – John and Audrey
“When I first heard about LANDINGS, I thought it was only for lapsed Catholics or people who no longer attended Church. I soon realised I was mistaken.
During the programme, I met many participants — both regular Churchgoers and non-Churchgoers — ranging from young adults to senior citizens. Besides the inspiring weekly themes presented by excellent speakers, the reflection and sharing sessions became something I truly looked forward to each week.
Gradually, I came to realise that we are all journeying through life together. Listening to others openly share experiences similar to my own gave me comfort, hope, and encouragement.” -Teresa
