KUCHING — The Catholic Senior Citizens Fellowship (CSCF) embarked on a grace-filled journey of fellowship, beginning with a historical visit to the Santubong Archaeological Park before gathering for spiritual reflection at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Bintawa on 15th July 2026.
A beautiful testament to community stewardship, the outing yielded a collection of RM 5,015. After accounting for expenses of RM 4,122, the Lord blessed the group with a surplus of RM 893. The CSCF lovingly topped this amount up by RM 7, presenting a total offering of RM 900 to support the church. The Chairman of CSCF Sis Lydia Chin handed the money to Mr Anthony Tomik, a Committee Member of St Peter’s Parish Pastoral Council.
Remarkably, we were deeply humbled to learn that since the completion of the new church Our Lady Star of the Sea 8 years ago, the CSCF is the very first group to visit this sacred space. We view this as a profound blessing and pray that our visit opens the door for many more organizations and faithful communities to come and experience the peace of this church.
Our time at the chapel was spiritually anchored by the recitation of the Holy Rosary, devoutly led by Sis Veronica Ting. Through her guidance, we offered our prayers to the Blessed Mother, lifting up our intentions and giving thanks for the abundant graces bestowed upon our fellowship.
May Our Lady continue to watch over Bintawa and guide more souls to this sanctuary.
