KUCHING — A thanksgiving potluck fellowship in conjunction with the Certificate-Giving ceremony, was held on the 26 October 2025 on the last day of Sunday School programme for the English and BM stream of Holy Trinity Parish, Kenyalang, Kuching.
This was in gratitude to both teachers and parents, grandparents, godparents and guardians for their Sunday Faithfulness in their service to the children. Bringing them to hear about God’s love for them in the Bible through Sunday School showed their trust in the teachers to help provide a spiritual foundation that can guide them throughout their lives. For the 126 children, the certificates of attendance or participation given to them during the fellowship, served as a tangible acknowledgement of their commitment, faithfulness, and effort in the Sunday School programme. The Rector, Fr Eugeno Gocela Maglasang SDB presented all the students their certificates including those respective students their Baptismal and First Holy Communion certificates.
Prior events on the 25 October 2025 were the Baptism and the First Holy Communion.
The morning welcomed nine children who received the Sacrament of Baptism from the class of Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) Catechist Stella Chin. During the Sunset Mass, the congregation joined the families of 11 first communicants in the momentous occasion in their lives being allowed to experience the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
The preparation for the sacred rite of passage that nourishes the young souls on their spiritual journey, the candidates had two reconciliations guided by Catechists Angeline Yeo and Alice Tan with their assistants, ex-Confirmands of 2024 Louis Shia, Heagen Douglas and Amadeus Cyrus Yeo.
