This is an annual event organised by the Sunday School with assistance from St Peter’s Seminary College. The Retreat prepares the students who will be receiving their Sacrament of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

16 September 2026. Malaysia Day was celebrated in a truly special and grace-filled way by the Catholic community of the Diocese of Miri as the faithful gathered in thanksgiving and joy for the Sacerdotal Ordination of Deacon Joel Rut Markus, the first priest from the Berawan community. The solemn celebration took place at St Dominic and The Rosary Church, Taman Tunku, Miri, where more than 3000 faithful began arriving as early as 8.00 a.m. to witness and celebrate this historic moment together.

Oct 19, Over 2,000 Catholics gathered at St Joseph’s Cathedral here on Sunday to join the Eucharistic Procession in conjunction with the Archdiocese’s 50th anniversary.

The Archdiocese of Kuching presbyterium welcomed a new priest, Rev Fr Addie Frank Anak Lingge on 20 September 2026. His sacerdotal ordination at St Joseph’s Cathedral Kuching was witnessed by his family, clergy, seminarians and busloads of relatives and friends from parishes he had served during his pastoral emersion. His diaconate ordination took place at St Theresa’s Church, Serian on 20 March this year.

After months of preparation, the MPC2026 became a reality. About 900 delegates from all the nine Arch/Dioceses in Malaysia convened at Kingwood Hotel in Sibu for the 9-13 September 2026 convention. Of this number over 200 were clergy and religious.
