MIRI — The Diocese of Miri’s Social Communications Ministry conducted its first-ever workshop on live video streaming and photography for parish teams on 8 August, equipping volunteers with the practical skills needed to document and share the life of the Church across the diocese.
The workshop was facilitated by Anthony Chai, who covered live video streaming, and Ronald Suyong, who led the photography segment. Together, the sessions introduced participants to the technical foundations of both disciplines, while emphasising that capturing sacred moments requires more than technical skill – it calls for reverence, awareness, and a heart for service.
Fifteen participants representing parishes across the diocese attended the session. At its conclusion, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers and participants in recognition of their commitment to serving the Church through the ministry of social communications.
The workshop reflects the broader vision of the Social Communications Ministry: to walk together in communion, guided by the Holy Spirit, and to build a more Christ-centred family through the tools of communication.
As the ministry continues to grow, initiatives such as this are laying the groundwork for a more equipped and unified team — one prepared to capture and share the sacred moments of parish life with reverence and care.
