KUCHING — St Peter’s is introducing Youth Alpha, a friendly place for teens to explore meaningful questions together through open discussion, community, and faith.
In conjunction with the youth alpha series, the Youth Alpha Holy Spirit Day Away programme was held on Sunday, 1 March 2026 at the AVA Room of St Peter’s Church Parish Centre. The Youth Alpha Holy Spirit Day Away programme has changed most youths’ perspectives on Christianity. Many reviews from our youth participants indicate that the Holy Spirit has touched them deeply during the pray over session. This not only helped teenagers and young adults repent and broaden their relationship with God but also their perspectives and knowledge of God.
Overall, the amazing Youth Alpha Programme is not just a series of sessions, it is becoming a transformative journey. It is cultivating a supportive community where young people feel safe, empowered, and inspired. They are growing in confidence, building meaningful relationships, and discovering their voices, which will continue to impact them beyond the programme itself.
Alpha youth in a group activity
Participants at the Youth Alpha Program shared thoughtful feedback and inspiring testimonies.
“I felt the Holy Spirit came into me and said, ‘let go of every burden and overthinking thoughts to Jesus because he is always there waiting for you.’ After the pray over I felt more at ease, spreading joy and laughter and last but not least, peace.” ~Trishaa
“During the pray over, I felt a deep sense of peace and calm in my heart. It felt as though God was truly present and listening to our prayers. I felt the Holy Spirit touch my heart very deeply. It reminded me of God’s love and gave me strength, calmness and inner peace. After the pray over, I felt lighter, more peaceful and spiritually refreshed. It strengthened my faith and encouraged me to always trust in God, Lord Jesus Christ, for healing and extraordinary miracles.” ~Wendy
The Youth Alpha’s purpose
The Youth Alpha’s purpose is to guide teenagers and young adults as they explore life’s big questions about faith and purpose in a safe and open space. It aims to help them grow closer to God in the ups and downs of everyday life, while giving them a warm place to talk, share, and learn together. Alpha helps create interactive spaces for exploring life, faith and meaning through connection, content and conversation. We’re built for connection.
Every Alpha session begins around the table with time to meet new people, build friendships, and create a comfortable space for meaningful conversations. No awkwardness, just genuine connection.
