KUCHING — St Joseph’s Parish Ladies Members ‘Meet & Greet’ Session was held at St Augustine’s AVA Room, Parish Centre on Saturday 16 August 2025. This brought together 70 members to reacquaint and to make new friends in an informal and warm happy setting.
Fr Nicholas Ng, Rector, gave a brief address with words of encouragement for members to continue to serve as a Lay Organisation in the Parish and Community.
Chairlady warmly welcomed everyone and spoke on the Guilds’ many activities with slide presentations to inform:-
• The Committee holds its monthly meeting on the 2nd Monday at the Parish Centre.
• Lead the Rosary on every 3rd Wednesday, 8pm at the Shrine of Our Lady, St Joseph’s Cathedral.
• Committee members visit the elderly, sick, household SJPLG members every 2nd Saturday (or at a date convenient).
• Organise Lenten and Advent Recollections/Pilgrimage.
In 2024, we gave donations toward St Peters Church, St Joseph’s Migrants Ministry, Bau needy adoptee families, Santa Clara Home (adult nappies, etc).
On 27 June, 50 Guild members made a Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to Mt Hosanna Chapel led by Cathedral Rector, Fr Nicholas Ng.
Forthcoming activities will be Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to CMPC Mt Singai in October and Pilgrimage to Garden of Gethsamane, Bunan in December. Details will be announced later at the Guilds’ chat sites.
The Guild will take up a Stall at the Sacred Heart Open Day Sale in September.
After meeting before lunch, our member, Doris Ting shared in making three Thai salads and all were able to taste these tasty salads at lunch time. An enjoyable, joyful and informal meet up was had by the members.
