LIMBANG (5 Sept 2025) —St Edmund’s Church, Limbang became a place of grace and joy as more than 120 pilgrims from Miri arrived for a half-day pilgrimage in celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025, Pilgrims of Hope. The group was made up mainly of Iban parishioners from various prayer groups across the Miri area, united in faith and fellowship.

The pilgrimage began with the Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Sylvester Ngau and con-celebrated by Fr Henry Saleh. The Eucharist was the spiritual heart of the journey, reminding pilgrims that Christ Himself is the reason for every pilgrimage and the source of our hope.

After Mass, the pilgrims were warmly welcomed by Mr Alexius Sampai, Chairman of the St Edmund’s Parish Council, who shared words of encouragement and explained the significance of the Jubilee Year. The group was then invited to the Canvas Room to listen to a short but meaningful presentation on the history and mission of St Edmund’s Church — a moment that connected the pilgrims with the faith journey of the local community.

Adoration in the Prayer Room

The highlight of the day was the time of silence spent in quiet adoration in the Prayer Room. In the stillness, many pilgrims offered prayers for their families, their parishes, and the wider Church. The day concluded with joyful fellowship, photos taken by the statue of St Edmund, and a renewed sense of purpose as the pilgrims prepared for their journey home to Miri.
