KUCHING — On Sunday, 5 October 2025, two much awaited events took place at the Church of Mother Mary, Stutong.
i) 25 Sunday School Students from the Church of Mother Mary Stutong received the Sacrament of Confirmation after having completed one year of Sunday School religious instruction. These 25 students were accompanied by 12 other adults receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation as well.
The Sacrament of Confirmation was conferred by His Grace Archbishop Simon Poh who also celebrated Holy Mass with Msgr William Sabang, Rector of the Church of Mother Mary, Stutong concelebrating.
ii) The other event was the celebration of 21 years’ journey from a Chapel to being elevated to a Church. The elevation to a Church was on 15 August 2025 by His Grace Archbishop Simon.
To mark the blessed and joyous occasion, Church of Mother Mary, Stutong parishioners came together bringing food and drinks for a simple yet fun-filled family atmosphere Pot-Bless Fellowship.
