KOTA PADAWAN — The residents and staff of Home of Peace were privileged to receive a Fire Safety Awareness Programme conducted by the Fire and Rescue Department on 19 June. The officers delivered an informative briefing on fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and the proper methods of extinguishing fires.
The programme included practical demonstrations on the correct use of fire extinguishers, giving both staff and residents the opportunity to handle and operate the equipment under the guidance of the officers. Staff were also shown how fires caused by cooking gas leaks and cooking oil can occur, as well as the appropriate methods of containing and extinguishing such fires safely. They were then given the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by extinguishing controlled fires in a supervised environment.
The hands-on training aimed to equip participants with the confidence and skills to respond effectively in the event of a fire or other emergencies. The programme concluded with a fellowship lunch shared with the officers from the Fire and Rescue Department, providing an opportunity for further interaction and appreciation of their service.
