KUCHING — Eight confirmands from the English Sunday School stream and one confirmand from the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), went through the rite of Confirmation at Holy Trinity Church, Kenyalang on 4 October 2025. The confirmation was performed by His Grace Archbishop Simon Poh. The Sunday Chinese Mass was concelebrated by the rector, Fr Eugeno Gocela Maglasang SDB.
His Grace enlightened that the laying of hands and anointing with Chrism or the Holy Oil on the foreheads by using the analogy of a stamp chop as an official seal to authenticate commitment and agreement to terms that the confirmands were affirmed as children of God.
He reiterated that Confirmation is the sacrament of initiation that completes Baptism by sealing them with the Holy Spirit, fostering a deeper, more mature commitment to faith and signifying strengthened grace, increased spiritual gifts, and a stronger bond with the Church, obliging the confirmed person to be a stronger witness for Christ wherever they go.
