KUCHING — 39 committee/members with Fr Andre Delimarta, SDB (Recollection Spiritual Leader) and Sr Stella Tan (Spiritual Directress), made a very meaningful trip to Bung Bratak, Bau for a weekend Lenten Recollection themed, ‘God walks with us in our brokenness’, on 21-22 March 2026.

The well-presented Talks, interspersed with videos clips and beautiful prayerful songs, clearly touched the participants as many were visibly moved to tears.

Talk 1 – Fr Andre very humbly shared his own life experience and his early days’ unfulfilled relationship with his father. In retrospect, Fr Andre saw God’s loving hand, plan and grace in every journey he took towards the beautiful reconciliation and healing process.

Talk 2 – “God’s love in my sinfulness” centred on the conversion story of Zacchaeus and the history of sins that can be lapses, stumbles, habits, omission/commission. Also, that the core of repentance is not sin, but God’s immense love.

The Sunset Mass homily was on Lazarus raised from the dead whereby Fr Andre mentioned humankind all have “tombs” – sin, fear, doubt, past wounds that all need to come out, that which is keeping oneself in darkness, and the need to embrace new life.

The weekend programme included meditating on The Rosary of Seven Sorrows of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, Morning prayer, Lectio Divina, Stations of the Cross, games, fun and members bonding free and easy, sessions  in beautifully  lush green  serene surroundings and participants spiritually nourished.
