SIMANGGANG — 8 August 2026 The grounds of the Our Lady Queen of Peace (OLQP) Catholic Church Simanggang were filled with life, laughter, and a spirit of fellowship as parishioners and supporters gathered for the much-anticipated Parish Sale 2026. Held from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. , the fundraising event was a resounding success, reflecting the generosity, unity, and faith of the parish community.
Inspired by the words of Sacred Scripture, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7), the Parish Sale became a beautiful witness of Christian stewardship in action. Through the dedication of volunteers, generous donors, and countless supporters, the event transformed the church compound into a vibrant gathering place where faith was expressed through service and charity.
Visitors were welcomed by a wide variety of food, beverages, and sale items prepared with great care and enthusiasm. Throughout the day, parishioners, families, and friends came together not merely to buy and sell but to strengthen bonds of friendship and support the mission of the Church. The joyful atmosphere demonstrated that when a community works together in Christ, much can be accomplished for the glory of God.
A special word of gratitude is extended to the Kuching Team, whose unwavering commitment and generosity have long been a blessing to the parish. Once again, the team demonstrated remarkable support by contributing wholeheartedly to the fundraising effort and fully donating the proceeds of their sales towards the Church’s mission. Their selfless dedication reflects the Gospel values of charity and service, inspiring others to do the same.
The Parish also wishes to acknowledge the invaluable support of St Cecilia Convent (SSFS). Through their participation and assistance, the Sisters helped to strengthen the fundraising effort and exemplified the spirit of collaboration within the Body of Christ. Their presence and contribution served as a reminder that the Church’s mission flourishes when communities come together in faith and mutual support.
The success of Parish Sale 2026 would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of volunteers, sponsors, benefactors, parish ministries, and all those who generously donated their time, talent, and resources. Every contribution, whether large or small, played a significant role in supporting the pastoral, evangelisation, and community outreach initiatives of OLQP Catholic Church.
As the parish celebrates this successful event, hearts are lifted in thanksgiving to God for His abundant blessings. The words of Psalm 133 beautifully capture the spirit of the day: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” Indeed, Parish Sale 2026 was a living testimony of that unity, bringing together people from various backgrounds with a common purpose of supporting the Church and advancing God’s work.
The Parish Pastoral Council expresses its sincere appreciation to everyone who participated and contributed to this meaningful occasion. May the generosity shown throughout the event bear lasting fruit in the life of the parish and continue to inspire future generations to serve with faith, love, and compassion.
