KOTA PADAWAN — The Siburan Zone Family Day 2026 (SZFD 2026) was successfully held on 26 April 2026 at Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Sinjok, bringing together Christian communities from Seratau, Tijirak, Masaan, Sentah, Prutan, Batu Gong and Sungai Burung in a joyful and meaningful celebration.
The program began with the arrival of parishioners and organising committee members early in the morning, followed by the Holy Rosary and the Eucharistic Celebration led by Friar Don Don Romero Ramerez OFM, Rector of St Ann Parish, Kota Padawan.
One of the most memorable highlights of the opening ceremony was the symbolic passing of the fire torch among representatives from each village in Zone Siburan. The torch was first lighted by Fr Don Don Romero Ramerez OFM before being passed on from one representative to another, symbolising unity, faith, and the spirit of togetherness among the Catholic communities in the zone.
The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with warmth, laughter, and joy as families and parishioners gathered to strengthen their bonds through a variety of fun-filled activities, including tower ball, balloon caterpillar, balloon cup, spider web, bowling field, and many more. Food stalls offering local delicacies were also available for participants to enjoy throughout the day. The highlight of the celebration was the exciting tug-of-war competition and the chicken-catching game held on the field. The venue was filled with laughter, cheers, and enthusiastic encouragement as participants of all ages actively joined in the activities. The joyful spirit and strong sense of togetherness among the parishioners created a lively and memorable atmosphere, leaving everyone with unforgettable memories of the event.
Apart from the family fun games activities, the program also featured sponsored song sessions, “Suara Emas” performances, and lucky draw sessions which further enlivened the celebration.
The event concluded at 3.00 pm with much gratitude and appreciation to all organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and participants who contributed to the success of the program. The most awaited moment of the day was the grand lucky draw, where the grand prize winner proudly brought home a motorcycle, ending the celebration on a joyful and exciting note.
May this program bring memorable moments to everyone involved in it and continue to strengthen the spirit of unity, love, and fellowship among the parishioners.
